Chief Engineer

Standard Operating Procedures

The Chief Engineer exists to help build and/or install useful technology around the office as well as maintain previously installed equipment. The most important aspect about the Chief Engineer position however, is being able to be on-call in case of broadcast equipment emergencies.

Duties:

● Maintain, repair, and modify all technical equipment at Fredonia Radio Systems

● Order new or replacement equipment as needed

● Train and clear personnel for broadcast studio and/or production studio use

● Assist with all technical aspects of remote broadcasts

● Ensure that an Equipment Loan Contract and updated equipment inventory are on file

● Assist the Audio Engineer from AIT with repair or alteration of the WCVF FM transmitter

● Make appointments to their respective operations positions

Computer Engineer

The Fredonia Radio Systems Computer Engineer is appointed by the Chief Engineer and shall report their progress directly to the Chief Engineer.

Duties:

● Keeping Chief Engineer informed about progress and problems

● Maintaining Computer Systems

Entertainment Services Director

The Entertainment Services Director is appointed by the Chief Engineer and shall report their progress directly to the Chief Engineer. The main responsibility of this position is to coordinate remote broadcasts and events.

Duties:

● Managing an entertainment team

● Educating members through workshops

● Maintaining remote equipment

● Organizing entertainment service contracts

● Filing monthly reports with the Chief Engineer

● Working in conjunction with promotions department
