Rockin' the Commons is an annual team cure sanctioned benefit for Roswell Park Cancer Institute organized by Fredonia Radio Systems. This year, the event will be held in honor of Nick Spawn, a SUNY Fredonia student who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) in December 2008. All of the proceeds from the event will go to Roswell Park to benefit research and patient care of those diagnosed with ALL.
For more information about Nick's progress, visit http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=122649016612&ref=ts
This year, the event will take place on Saturday, April 17 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Barker Commons in downtown Fredonia. There will be live entertainment and a Chinese auction all day long, a Children's Fest from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (or until supplies run out), and Chiavetta's Chicken BBQ served around 4 p.m.
If anyone is interested in donating products or gift baskets for the Chinese auction, please contact a station executive board member at 716-673-3420.
Thanks to WNYF, Sound Services, and the Teacher's Education Club for support in planning this event year after year.
